Malika Jones was being held in the Union County Jail on murder and weapons charges in connection with Sunday's fatal stabbing of her 57-year-old mom, Inell Jones, Acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo said Tuesday.
The pair were arguing at a house on the 100 block of East Albert Street when the elder Jones was stabbed around 3 p.m., and subsequently pronounced dead, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said.
The younger Jones was immediately taken into custody and charged within hours of the killing, Ruotolo said. She remains in jail pending a detention hearing and first appearance in Superior Court.
